Civil Guard Office in the centre of Magaluf

THE CIVIL GUARD OFFICE RELOCATED IN THE CENTRE OF MAGALUF WILL BE OPEN 24 HOURS A DAY

The mayor and the acting Government delegate highlight the work of the Civil Guard and the local Police of Calvià as an example of collaboration between both security forces

The Civil Guard's Foreign Tourism Service Office (SATE), in Magaluf, is already open and in operation, since last week, in the municipal facilities that housed the Municipal Tourist Information Office (OMIT).

The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal; the acting Government delegate, Ramon Morey, and the Civil Guard's chief colonel, Alejandro Hernández, visited this morning the facilities located in the centre of Magaluf, at the beginning of Punta Ballena street.

The decision to relocate the Magaluf SATE office was announced after the Local Security Board meeting held last May. The novelty is that, in addition to operate as a SATE, it will be open 24 hours a day.

Alfonso Rodríguez Badal has celebrated the relocation of this office because of the important deterrent and reactive effect it will have and because it will remain open during the whole season the 24 hours of the day. The mayor, who continues to claim more security forces in summer, has valued the Civil Guard's effort to provide more resources to the area, because it adds to the fundamental work to move towards improving the model. In this regard, he also wanted to highlight the work carried out by the local Police of Calvià with the night shift reinforcements, the reinforcements in Punta Ballena and the control of the municipal ordinances, and the example of collaboration between the Civil Guard and the local Police.

For his part, the acting Government delegate has explained that the office will operate as a SATE from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and that from that time, and throughout the night, it will become a Civil Guard post. Ramon Morey has indicated that the opening of the office is the example of what he has described as a magnificent collaboration between the Calvià Town Hall and the Civil Guard, and added that the Mayor's request is taken in and requested and that this year they have already increased personnel in the area with UCESIC officers from Palma.

The visit was attended by the deputy mayor for local Police, Nati Francés; the councillor of the Magaluf area, Marc López; the head of the local Police of Calvià, Francisco Darder; the municipal general directors of the local Police, José Antonio Fernández Ballesta, and Tourism, Javier Pascuet, and María Bel Llinàs, Government's delegate advisor.
