CALVIÀ SIGNS AN AGREEMENT WITH THE BALEARIC DOWN SYNDROME ASSOCIATION (ASNIMO) FOR THEM TO USE A MUNICIPAL PREMISES IN SON FERRER
It is planned that, individual and group attention to childhood and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder will take place in the premises, amongst other activities
Today, the mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, signed an agreement with the Balearic Down Syndrome Association (ASNIMO) for them to use a municipal premises. On behalf of ASNIMO, the agreement has been signed by its director, Bartolomé Márquez Coll, and it has a duration of four years.
Through this agreement, the Town Hall allows ASNIMO to use of a space that is part of the municipal premises in which the Educational Reinforcement Centre of Calvià (CREC) of Son Ferrer in order to carry out its activities and thus improve care for people with intellectual disabilities living in the municipality of Calvià. It is expected that in the premises, individual and group attention to childhood and youth with Autism
Spectrum Disorder (ASD) will be carried out, amongst other activities.
The Balearic Down Syndrome Association is a non-profit organisation that aims to care for people with Down syndrome and their families, as well as other people with cognitive and sensory disabilities, providing all the services that are necessary to their medical care, education, training, and labour and social insertion, as well as care and guidance services to their families, in addition to fighting for the recognition and exercise of the rights that every person with Down syndrome has recognised by international laws.
The agreement signing event was attended by the deputy mayor for Social Cohesion, Nati Francés; the councillor for Social Development, Childhood and Senior Citizens, María Carmen Rojano, and the coordinator of the ASNIMO service, Rita Coll.
