V Local Police of Calvią Charity Race

INFORMATION NOTE FROM THE LOCAL POLICE OF CALVIÀ

RECORD OF PARTICIPATION IN THE V POLICE OF CALVIÀ RACE IN BENEFIT OF ADAYO-PBO

More than 300 runners, amongst adults and children, have run part of this solidarity race routes in Es Capdellà

Promptly at 9.30 a.m., with some air and no rain, participants departured to run around the Puig de Galatzó surroundings on the V Race organised by the Local Police of Calvià in support of the Obstetric Brachial Palsy Guidance and Aid Association (Adayo PBO). The organisation has arranged two mountain races for adults: one of 10.2 km, with 80 participants; and another of 15.3 km, with 220 runners. The deputy mayor, Nati Francés, and the councilwoman María del Carmen Rojano, have given encouragement at the exit line.

Mateu Pons and Eva María Pavón were the first to arrive on the 10'2 km race, while Antoni Gran and Rebeca Mariño were the first to cross the finish line after running 15'3 km. At noon, both the deputy mayor for Sports, Eva Serra, and councilwoman María del Carmen Rojano, delivered the trophies.

Both races have been refereed and score in the Balearic Mountaineering and Climbing Federation, relevant data since around 50% of the registered people are federated. The tour has been made through the public estate of Galatzó, Ses Vinyes and Ses Planes, a route that meets the guidelines required by the Regional Ministry for Environment of the Balearic Islands that has limited the total number of participants to 300. In addition, free children's races have also been organised for children up to 12 years old with the name of Adayo Kids. The total enrolled in the modalities for minors has been 55.

On the other hand, it should be noted that about twenty entities have supported this solidarity race with Adayo-PBO. This association will allocate the income to the gynecology, midwives and physiotherapists personnel training with regards to Obstetric Brachial Palsy. On this occasion Paralympic medalist Álex Sánchez excused his attendance as sponsor of the event since he is already immersed in trainings to participate in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Participants have received a copy of the Entorn Magazine latest issue that includes an article by Álex Sánchez, amongst other articles on sport, especially athletics and mountain races.
