PRESENTATION IN ES CAPDELLÀ OF THE BOOK 'MALLORCA, TORRES I TALAIES COSTANERES'
The Civic Centre of Es Capdellà yesterday hosted the presentation of the book 'Mallorca, torres i talaies costaneres', by Àngel Aparicio and Vicenç Sastre, which makes a wide and comprehensive tour of one of the most representative heritage elements on an island like Mallorca, and with an important presence in the municipality of Calvià.
The deputy mayor for Youth, Citizen Participation, Environment, Ecological Transition and Democratic Memory, and councillor of the village of Es Capdellà, Rafel Sedano, introduced the two authors of the work, who presented the book with special mention to the towers and watchtowers that are in the municipality of Calvià.
In this sense, Ángel Aparicio, researcher and specialist in military architecture, explained to the public that attended the event, the research work they have done for the publication of the book, as well as the specific intervention of Calvià towers. The illustrator Vicenç Sastre explained, on the other hand, the dynamics of how he has drawn up the drawings, reconstructing, on some occasions, some towers such as Rafalbetx, trying to reproduce it as best as he has been able to.
