Today, a new Ibavi public housing promotion, through swap, to be built on Avenida de s'Olivera in Magaluf, has been presented, and the works of the 48 VPOs that Calvià Town Hall and the Govern are building together in the same place, with municipal and regional investment, have been visited.

The event was attended by the president of the government of the Balearic Islands, Francina Armengol, and the mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, along with the regional minister of Mobility and Housing, José Marí.

The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, expressed his satisfaction for the regional government to launch the tender for this new development in Calvià because housing policies are absolutely strategic for the municipal government team. A promotion that complements the 48 homes being built by the Ibavi and the Town Hall in Magaluf and the 99 VPOs in Santa Ponça with municipal financing.

The regional government's president highlighted the commitment of Calvià's government team around a basic need such as proper housing for Calvià citizens, putting in value, not only the collaboration with the Govern, but as the only Town Hall of the Balearic Islands building public housing with the Town Hall's own budget, to face one of the most important challenges such as housing shortage.

On his behalf, regional minister Josep Marí explained that the new 36 homes to be built will be done through a swap system, under a purchase-sale regime at an appraised price, as a new formula for public-private collaboration. These new homes will complement the 48 (24 + 24) that are already being built by the Govern and the Town Hall and which will be on a rental basis.

The event was also attended by the president of the Consell de Mallorca, Catalina Cladera, the deputy mayor for Social Cohesion and Head of Housing of Calvià Town Hall, Nati Francés, the deputy mayor for Urban Planning and Magaluf councillor, Marc López, the deputy mayor Marga Plomer, as well as the Housing general directors of the Govern, Eduardo Robsy, and the Town Hall, Eduard Vila.
