CALVIÀ AT MADRID TOURISM FAIR FITUR
Calvià will be present, one more year, at Madrid Tourism Fair FITUR, with the usual stand and the attendance of the mayor, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, accompanied by the general director of Tourism and Coastline, Xavier Pascuet. Within the Fair's framework, there will be several work meetings with the operator Jet 2, Segittur or with the Ideas 4 Change consultants with whom they work with product positioning and reputation of the destination, amongst others.
During the course of the Fair, they will attend the AMT (Alliance of Tourist Municipalities, of which Calvià is a member) board of directors meeting. On Thursday morning, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, as president of the Tourism Commission of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, will present, together with the Secretary of State for Tourism, Fernando Valdés, the SICTED Awards (Comprehensive Spanish Tourism Quality in Destinations System) granted by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism and the FEMP.
In the evening, he will collect the Q 2022 Award that the Institute for Spanish Tourist Quality (ICTE) has awarded Calvià for its commitment to the quality of its beaches, being the municipality with the largest number of certified beaches throughout Spain. The award ceremony will take place at the Galería de Cristal in the Palacio de Cibeles, during the 'Noche Q' celebration.
He will also attend various events, such as the one that took place yesterday «Baleares es futuro: el nuevo turismo que liderará la pospandemia» (The Balearic Islands is future: the new tourism that will lead the post-pandemic), in which the president of the Balearic Islands presented the new Balearic Islands tourism law, or today's Exceltur Forum, amongst others.
