Informative note from the Local Police of Calvią

Calvià, 27th May 2020

INFORMATIVE NOTE FROM THE LOCAL POLICE OF CALVIÀ

167 PEOPLE FINED LAST WEEK FOR BREACHING THE STATE OF ALARM

The Calvià Local Police has proposed for fine 167 people who have breached restrictions in phase 1 of the state of alarm, in which we were last week. Most of them were for not wearing face masks inside cars when it is compulsory, made recreational use of the beaches when only sports were allowed, or for not maintaining safety distances. In total since the state of alarm began, officers have filed 1,474 reports.

By areas, it is worth noting that there have been 33 fines in IIletes, almost all of them on the area's beaches where there were people in groups or that did not maintain safety distances. In Santa Ponça, 29 reports have been filed, all for not using the face mask when necessary inside vehicles. In Bendinat and Son Bugadelles, 14 complaints have been filed for the same reason in each area. The same number in Portals Vells, where there were bathers and people sunbathing. In Son Ferrer, also 14 complaints, in this case due to large gathering of people.

The Local Security Board in Calvià has today shared the data from the previous week, maintains the coordination of both bodies and is preparing for the future arrival of tourists. The Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal; the deputy mayor, Nati Francés Gárate; the general director of General Services and Police, José Antonio Fernández Ballesta; the secretary of the Town Hall, Joan Castañer Alemany; the Chief of the Local Police, Paco Darder Kittila; Major J. A. Navarro Muñoz; and the commander of the Civil Guard in Calvià, Lieutenant Manuel Martínez Palomo have taken part in the meeting.

The Calvià Town Hall reiterates that it is everyone's responsibility to follow the social health regulations and recommendations while the de-escalation process continues. The council asks in a special way that citizens respect the time slot for those over 70 years old and thus demonstrate their solidarity towards vulnerable and elderly people who have between ten in the morning and twelve noon and between seven and eight in the afternoon for them.
