THE MAYOR OF CALVIÀ REAFFIRMS THE MUNICIPALITY'S POTENTIAL BEFORE TOURISM PROFESSIONALS: «OUR ONLY LIMIT IS IMAGINATION»
The Calvià MICE event analyses the possibilities offered by the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions tourism
Calvià has been promoted as a MICE destination (tourism for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) to professionals from the sector in a meeting held on Friday at the Sala Palmanova in the municipality. «Calvià is a 365 municipality, with the tendency to be open all year round, and with an economic fabric that has placed it in the Spanish leadership of sun and beach destinations. But, at the same time, with the desire to contribute much more. Our only limit is imagination,” mayor Juan Antonio Amengual told the participants.
The mayor recalled that Calvià is the "perfect destination" for this type of tourism that combines work, professional and personal activities: "more and more people are choosing Mallorca in general and Calvià in particular for their events." To the already well-known attraction of the municipality, Amengual has added that of the professionals who work in tourism: "our municipality has a numerous and varied offer, of public and private facilities, imaginative entrepreneurs who constantly renew themselves, spectacular geography and sea and mountain environment, cultural heritage... And with an unbeatable human asset, all the people who work in hospitality, services and complementary offer and who are our best value and guarantee of quality tourism at the highest standards» .
The professional event aimed at MICE tourism, in whose organisation Calvià Town Hall has collaborated, has included interventions by: Jordi Planas (Innovation manager of Somos Experiences); Elena Altemir (director of Sustainability at SITE Spain and CEO at NOS03); Óscar García (founding member of Forum Business Travel); and Juan Miguel Caldentey (CEO at Maximice). The event was moderated by Alessia Comis (delegate of OPC Baleares and CEO at Pidelaluna Events).
